Privacy notice · version 2.2 · 2026-09-03

What we collect, and why.

This site asks you for personal information in one place: the enquiry form. This notice says what happens to what you type there, and it describes our own practice.

What we collect

When you use the enquiry form we collect what you type into it: your name, your email address, your company or organisation, a phone number if you give one, where you operate, and whatever you tell us about your fleet, including machine makes, models, how they are used and any notes you add. Nothing else on this site asks you for personal information. We do not run advertising trackers, we do not sell data, and we do not build profiles on visitors. Our web host may keep ordinary server logs, such as an address, a timestamp and the page requested, for security and reliability.

Why we collect it

One reason: to answer your enquiry. We use what you send to work out which family your machine belongs to, to tell you where it stands, and to follow up with you.

Who we share it with

Nobody. We do not sell, rent, trade or disclose your information to third parties for their own purposes. The only exceptions are the ordinary ones: the service providers who host this site and carry our email, who process it only on our instructions, and disclosure where the law requires it, such as a valid court order. If that ever changes, this notice changes first.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records for as long as the enquiry is live, and for twenty-four months after our last contact with you, so we can pick a conversation up where it left off. After that we delete them. If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will.

Where it is held

Steady Eddie is based in Western Canada. Your information may be stored or processed on servers operated by our hosting and email providers, which may be located outside Canada. Where that is the case, the information is subject to the laws of that country, including lawful access requests.

Your rights

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and under equivalent laws in other markets we deal with, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, give you a copy of it, correct anything that is wrong, delete it, or stop contacting you. Write to us and we will do it, normally within thirty days, at no charge. If you are not satisfied with how we handled your request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Consent

Sending us an enquiry is your consent for us to use the information for the purpose above. You can withdraw that consent at any time by writing to us, and we will delete your record.

How to reach us

Email [email protected] and put "Privacy" in the subject line.

Accountable person and postal address

Privacy requests are answered by the accountable officer of Steady Eddie, a division of Sustainable Infrastructure Group Ltd. (SIG). Write to [email protected] with 'Privacy' in the subject line and we will give you the postal address for a written request. Until then, that email reaches the owner of the division, who answers personally.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the version and date at the top. This is version 2.2, dated 2026-09-03. It replaces version 2.1: the updates sign-up has been removed from the site, so the enquiry form is again the only place this site collects personal information.

Site notices

Photographs and product images

Photographs on this site show the group's own fleet and job sites in Western Canada and the machine classes Eddie is built for. Product images are renders of STE Integrated.

Machine makes and trademarks

Machine makes and models are named only to say which machines Eddie works. Steady Eddie is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any equipment manufacturer, and all trademarks remain the property of their owners.

Warranty, conformity and liability

Eddie operates a machine through its own controls and never connects to its electronic systems. What any installation means for a warranty, a conformity assessment or a liability position is a question for your counsel. Our full statement is on the safety page.

No advice

Nothing on this site is tax, legal or investment advice.
