Every machine with a seat. One removable operator.

The dock and the unit do not change. What changes is which controls Eddie works, and what it learns when it calibrates to that cab. Below are the families, the machines running on our own fleet, and what it takes to add yours.

Ten families are already in the seat.

Excavators, a dozer, a skid steer, two tractors, a combine, a backhoe, a telehandler, a compactor, a rock truck and a wheel loader. One system and one unit work all of them, at our own Test Facility in Alberta.

Older iron

If a person can work the controls, Eddie can work them.

Eddie never needs your machine to have electronics. A machine with no CAN bus, no ECU and no firmware is worked exactly like new iron, because Eddie only operates what a person operates. Older machines are as usable as anything in the fleet, and they are often the ones with the seat problem.

Adding a machine

How we add a machine.

Fit

You fit it, following our instructions. The dock bolts in at the operator station, into points the manufacturer already provided, and the control units pin onto the machine's own controls. Both come off again and move to the next machine.

Tell it the machine

You tell the software what kind of machine it is. From then on Eddie never puts more force on a control than that kind of machine should see.

Calibrate

Eddie works each control through a set of calibration steps and learns where neutral sits, where the limits are, how much travel there is before the machine answers, and how each control comes back when it is released.

Every day

Every older machine has worn, sloppy controls, and no two are alike. So Eddie calibrates on the machine every day it works, not once at commissioning. That daily pass is what makes an old machine workable.

Nothing is cut, tapped or flashed, and the machine is standard again when Eddie lifts out.

Assessing your machine

What we need from you.

  • Make, model and year, and the cab trim if you know it.
  • Photographs of the operator station: the seat, both consoles, the floor, the pedals and each control close up.
  • What the machine does all day, and where. The task, the site and the shift.
  • Whether that machine is holding up the job, or waiting on something else.
  • Whether the public ever comes within reach of it.

We reply with the family your machine belongs to, what Eddie would work in that cab and what fitting it involves.
